1. Safety 안전

Pre-Manufacturing : Safety First!!

Manufacturing is all about pre-calculations and pre-planning. Manufacturing profession is defined by knowing before making something. Avoiding waste material, broken tools and etc shows one's profession. 'Try and Error' will eventually build up your profession. However, safety is not about 'try and error.' Safety First!

만들기 전, 제조 전 가장 중요한 것: 안전!!

제조의 핵심은 미리 예측하고, 대비하여 계획하는 것에 있다. 제조 전문성은 바로 무엇을 만들기 전 어떻게 만들것인가를 아는 것이다. 버려지는 재료, 부서진 도구, 공구를 피할 수 있는 사람이 전문가다. 많은 시행착오가 전문성을 만들어 준다. 그러나 안전엔 시행착오가 없다. 안전이 제일 중요하다.

2. Units 단위

A. Metric 미터

한국은 Meter 를 기준으로 10Km, 100Cm, 10mm 등으로 쓰이고 있다.

B. Imperial 영국식

1Foot, 12Inch, Pound 등으로 쓰이고 있다.

D. As a designer, you need your own standard.

Once you set your own standard, then you set your tools, software, materials, parts and etc based on one units. It is a matter of lowering risks. There is no one who jumps around different units.

디자이너는 자신만의 기준이 필요하다.

한 번 단위를 정하면, 그 다음부터 모든 도구, 소프트웨어, 재료, 파츠 등을 똑같이 정한다. 이는 위험 요인을 줄이는 것이며, 누구도 단위를 그 때 그 때 바꾸는 사람은 없다.
